4 - REDEFINING

21st century, what is the future of Ancient Greek Theater? Its poetic language and symbolism maintain their timelessness intact. Can it contribute to the social, economic and moral turmoil that prevails worldwide?

We are in the 21st century. Theatre, like art in general, is going through a big crisis. Wars, political and social unrest, moral and cultural mutations combined with educational devaluations and economic uncertainty have created new realities. How will man react, especially the young men and young women who are the most affected? What can the ancient Greek theatre and the philosophical schools offer in this uncertain world? The younger generations show a strong interest in continuing their theatrical quest through Ancient Greek Tragedy, whose messages seem to be redefined and modernized in the new reality of the 21st century.
